Even though Ciudad Neily is thought to be the 2nd largest city in Costa Rica’s southern pacific region, the simplest projects will still have a huge impact on the community. We have witnessed this as GYM short term mission teams – in collaboration with local leaders – have provided physical help to families, schools, businesses, and local churches on past trips. Our teams have painted roofs, constructed fences, built handicap ramps and lots more!  You and your team will fly into San Jose and take a scenic 6 hour bus to Ciudad Neily. Teams stay in church member host homes and take part in a variety of evangelism projects in the community, local schools, and churches. What a privilege it is to share Christ with the beautiful people of Costa Rica!

Where

You will fly into the Juan Santamaria International Airport located in San Jose, Costa Rica. Once through customs, team will take a chartered bus to Ciudad Neily which is about a 5 hour drive from the airport. Pastor Christian and his wife Maegan live in Ciudad Neily. You will be staying and serving in Ciudad Neily during your time in Costa Rica!

Basic Costs

In country cost of $850 covers in country transportation, food, lodging, etc.

International flights to Costa Rica vary in price depending on where you are flying from and how early your flights are booked.  Typically flights from the U.S. average $600, depending on when you are able to reserve. You will make your own flight arrangements. You will also need a passport.

Your total cost is approximately $1,450.00. $850 of that is payable to Global.

Trip Deposit

We normally ask that you turn in a $100/person trip deposit with your application to reserve your spot on the team. Deposits are due about 4 months before you depart.

Payment Schedule

Initial Deposit – $100.00 due with Application (non-refundable)
50% of budget due 90 days before trip departure date.
100% of budget  due 30 days before trip departure date.
