East Asia

Asia is the place where nearly one fourth of the world’s population lives.  They are a friendly people who welcome foreigners with open arms.  You and your team will travel to Asia and then on to the campsite, where you will be teaming up with local teachers to lead an eight day English Emersion Camp.  You will have a few days before the campers arrive to build relationships with the local teachers as well as to make final preparations for the camp.  As a team you will build relationships with the youth you are teaching.  As your relationships grow, you will find that the youth are truly interested in who you are as a person opening doors that are normally closed.  Your group will also aid in breakout sessions teaching drama, music, recreation, etc. to the youth.

Be involved in youth camps, campus visits, daily conversations with nationals and other opportunities for service. This is a great opportunity to invest in the lives of young people while you are learning their culture. We will be engaged in drama, music, art, crafts and recreation.

Where

Camp locations in the past include: Shanghai, Beijing, Inner Mongolia, Henan, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Guangxi and Yunnan.  You will fly to Shanghai for in-country orientation and one camp, and then will do camps in other places as well.   Doing camps in different locations will allow you to see and experience several different places and lifestyles in China.

Basic Costs

In country cost of $600.00 covers in country transportation, food, lodging etc.

International flights to China from the U.S. average $1400. You will make your own flight arrangements. Passport and Visa fees are additional.  A Visa is $239.00. We can help you apply or you can apply online.

Your total cost will be approximately $2,239.00. $600 of that is payable to Global. This is a phenomenal value for this trip!  Please note snacks, personal items, entertainment, souvenirs, as well as housing, food and travel before and after the program dates are not covered.

Trip Deposit

We ask that you would turn in a $100/person trip deposit with your application to reserve your spot on the team. Deposits are due about 4 months before you depart.
