Every year we host several Mission Projects which enable your individuals and Youth Groups to reach youth in countries where youth ministry is emerging! We minister in places like Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, South America and the Caribbean.

Mission CAMP

Serving the youth of your church is a big responsibility. We understand that many leaders are faced with the decision of financially making wise, intentional investments with the youth ministry budget. Many times, leadership teams are having to decide: Summer Camp OR Mission Trip.

Global Youth Ministry firmly believes in the importance of leadership training and service opportunities-both aspects that define Global Youth Camps. We have specifically created opportunities for your group to have both – camp and missions- budget friendly.  Our advice? Don’t choose…

…Don’t choose between youth camp and mission trip. DO BOTH at Global Youth Camps with a Mission Track! OR bring your students to one of our Mission Camps!

Missions Camp Georgia

Missions Track on Summer Camp

Perhaps you had already planned to join one of our Summer Camps at Fort Mountain Retreat Centre and you don’t have budget to send your group overseas this coming summer.

You can still serve, we offer a Missions Track over and above your normal Summer Camp activities for a nominal extra cost.

Our organization serves as the go-between to enable your team to prepare and serve overseas. We will help your team members develop their own prayer and finance team to support them. We will handle the airline tickets, lodging, and liaison with the missionaries overseas, and then also help your team prepare for the cultural, spiritual, and ministry aspects of the trip. Then we will guide the team through the whole mission experience!

    Pray Boldly

Did you know that in almost fifty-one countries prayer is forbidden? Often, Scripture is unavailable in their own language and even illegal.  The Lord sincerely cares for us and draws closer to those who call upon Him. Praying boldly takes us out of our comfort zone. What would it be like if you prayed right now and asked God to take you, mold you into what He wants and take you out of your comfort zone? “I have Him, but more importantly, He has me.”

    Give Freely

What do you think about when you hear the phrase “Give Freely”? If you ask different people you will get various answers about what giving freely means. People may say that it means giving everything you have, but ultimately it means that you are surrendering yourself to Jesus Christ saying “here is all of me, I am yours.” It is surrendering yourself with your palms up letting the Lord take and give things. We initiate in asking ourselves “what if we put aside the things that our world has put so much worth into and instead create willful space for God and focus on what is important?” We as Christians need to listen to Gods calling in whatever His plans are for each of our lives, that is why if you are called to missions you are called to go and Give Freely!

    Go Ye

“Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations.” At Global Youth Ministry, mission trips overseas are a huge part of our strategy to pour the Gospel into youth. Our core values are to create one-on-one connections, minister to students and children, and finally develop everlasting plans for future mission trips. “The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed”-Hudson Taylor

If planned carelessly, short-term mission trips can be ineffective. But build them around a long-term strategy and you’ll transform entire communities.

Join a Global team (or lead your youth group) and spend a week (or even 7 weeks) serving alongside our mentors overseas. Opportunities to reach the youth outside of our country are limitless.  Will you GO?

  • How safe is the country where my student is going?

Global Youth Ministry’s first priority is the safety of everyone involved in a Global Mission Project. Therefore, we constantly communicate with our contacts and missionaries in a country, as well as the embassy and transportation officials, to carefully evaluate the political and physical environment before travel occurs.  We refuse to take a passive stance on safety and have closed country options in the past and moved students to ensure a safer environment. However, it is also important for team members to understand travel always involves some discomfort and sometimes less than ideal conditions and circumstances.  Complete safety cannot be guaranteed.

  • Can I communicate with my student while he/she is overseas?

In all of our overseas projects we contact the church through our office in the U.S. to let them know that your team member has arrived safely.  We also strive to update the host church on how each team member is doing throughout the week.  In some cases your participant can also purchase a calling card to call back home.  We recommend purchasing these phone cards once we are in country.  Sometimes the cards purchased in the U.S. do not work in all the countries we go.  We can update you as to what is the best method on purchasing phone cards before departing the U.S.  We also will provide you with a number to contact in case of an emergency that requires you reach your student while they are overseas.  In most cases this number is our U.S. office which will provide you with the best way to contact the project leader.

  • Who will lead my student overseas?

We have an experienced staff that leads our projects.  Your team participant will be led by one of our staff, in most cases they have been to the country in which your participant is going. Often, your team’s staff guide will be a current resident in the country where your team ministers.  All of our staff has years of experience leading projects such as the one your participant will be on.  The person who is leading your team members is in on all of the project planning.  In most cases this person will also be available to do an on site orientation for the team your team member is traveling with before they depart for their mission project.

  • Is my student placed in an environment where he/she can grow?

Global Youth Ministry is focused on developing leaders around the world.  On each project we place your students in an area where they are able to develop leadership skills.  Even before we arrive on the field the team preparation is designed to begin preparing students to develop leadership skills.  We want them to take ownership of the project.  In order for this to happen, we feel that personal responsibility is the key.  Each student is given a specific assignment where leadership skills may be improved while serving others.

  • What will my student do on the project?

First and foremost, each student is there to model their life with Christ, this may be through sharing their testimony or leading a Bible Study, but more often than not it is simply through living their life in such a way that glorifies God in everything that they do on the project.  Each student will also be assigned specific tasks before the project.  They will have opportunity to prepare for what that task is.  The tasks can range from leading small group bible studies to running a sound system.  In many projects we put on a camp or conference in which you student would play the role of a team leader or assistant team leader.  Your student might also help out with recreation, registration, drama, and worship.  We strive to place each student in areas where they are strong, but will also place the students in areas where they can be stretched and grow.

  • How will my student raise the support for this project?

We provide each participant with a manual that offers several examples for fundraising.  We suggest that each team member make a list of people who would join in prayer and also possibly donate funds towards the project.  The team members would write letters to these people, make phone calls to them, make presentations, and deevelop other ways to raise funds with the help provided in the project manual.

  • What is included in the project expenses?

The base cost of each participant’s project covers on-site training as well as training materials before departure from the country.  Once in country, the cost includes meals, lodging and ground transportation.  It will also include insurance once in country (explained further in point 8).  In addition, all administrative costs are covered:  leadership, set-up trips, and all communication via calls, letters and faxes to overseas contacts.  The cost does not include application fees, visa costs (if applicable,) U.S. Customs departure taxes and souvenir money.  Also, any costs accumulated as a result of serious violation of Global Youth Ministry rules or any family emergency are not covered. These costs are the responsibility of each student and their family.

  • Does Global Youth Ministry provide overseas insurance for my student?

Included in the cost of the Project is overseas medical insurance for your participant. Global Youth Ministry uses International Travel Insurance coverage. It is one of the most recognized names in missions insurance. Your insurance includes medical expenses, emergency medical transportation, medical assistance with worldwide medical emergencies, property insurance, disability income benefits and accidental death and dismemberment.

  • When is our final amount due and how may we finalize our registration contribution?

The base cost of each participant’s project covers on-site training as well as training materials before departure from the country. Once in country, the cost includes meals, lodging and ground transportation. It will also include insurance once in country (explained further in point 8). In addition, all administrative costs are covered: leadership, set-up trips, and all communication via calls, letters and faxes to overseas contacts. The cost does not include airfare, application fees, visa costs (if applicable,) U.S. Customs departure taxes and souvenir money. Also, any costs accumulated as a result of serious violation of Global Youth Ministry rules or any family emergency are not covered. These costs are the responsibility of each student and their family.
