Wales – Global Youth Ministry

Tracing its roots back more than 1500 years, Wales has an unbroken history of Christian witness, culminating in the William Morgan Bible of 1588 that preserved the Welsh language during a period of external oppression. Though a revival in the last 100 years garnered much attention globally, modern Wales is considerably less Christian than any other historical time period. Going to Wales with Global Youth Ministry offers you an opportunity to share in the experiences of those keen to revitalize the spiritual fervor that once swept the nation. It also means rubbing shoulders with locals who are not only Welsh, but also English, Scottish, Irish and various other world nationalities enthusiastic about sharing the Christian faith. Who knows, you may yet get to experience another Great Welsh revival!

Ministry Focus

Having a hand in several VBSs will give you the opportunity to impact the lives of youth and children with similar lifestyles in a different culture. All elements of a typical VBS are needed.

Where

Your team will fly into Heathrow, Bristol, or Cardiff and then take a bus ride to Llantwit Fardre, Wales. You will spend the week ministering with a designated local church near Llantwit Fardre, Wales, where Kevin and Amanda Wilhite live.

Basic Costs

In country costs of $850.00 covers in country transportation, food, lodging, etc.

International flights to Wales vary in price depending on where you are flying from and how early your flights are booked. Typically flights from the U.S. average $1,200. After we receive your deposit we will book your flight. You will need a passport as well.

Your total cost will be around $2,050.00. Please note snacks, personal items, entertainment, souvenirs, as well as housing, food and travel outside of the planned trip are not covered.

Trip Deposit

We ask that you would turn in a $200/person trip deposit with your application to reserve your spot on the team. Deposits are due about 4 months before you depart. $100 of deposit goes to in country costs and $100 of deposit goes to airfare.

Payment Schedule (suggested, per person)

Initial Deposit – $200.00 due with Application (non-refundable)
50% of budget due 90 days before trip departure date.
100% of budget due 30 days before trip departure date.
